Joseph E. Conroy, PhD - Board Certified Neuropsychologist
Dr. Conroy is a psychologist licensed to practice in the States of South Carolina and New Jersey. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and earned diplomates from the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology and the American Board of Pediatric Neuropsychology.
As part of the independent practice of Lowcountry Neuropsychology and Behavioral Healthcare, Dr. Conroy provides direct assessment and therapy services as well as serving as a consultant to public school districts, independent schools, colleges and universities, and a wide range of agencies and organizations. He has worked with college athletic departments as well as with MLB and NFL franchises. Dr. Conroy has been involved in varied capacities since 1980 in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with cognitive, learning, developmental, and behavioral challenges.
Dr. Conroy's has had clinical, administrative, and training responsibilities at a regional medical center. He held a tenure track position at a university teaching undergraduate and graduate students and mentoring master's thesis students.
Dr. Conroy provides neuropsychological and clinical psychology services at Lowcountry Neuropsychology. Services include neuropsychological evaluation, cognitive rehabilitation, individual and family consultation and psychotherapy, school and professional consultation, and staff training/public speaking. Interests and typical referral questions include concussion management, traumatic brain injury assessment, ADHD and developmental and learning disabilities, sport performance challenges, anxiety disorders, depression, and post-trauma/pain assessment and treatment.
Dr. Conroy is an experienced clinician in the area of sports concussion and return to play issues. Dr. Conroy has served in consulting roles with the NY Football Giants, the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Organization, and the Monmouth University Department of Sports Medicine.
